On March 16, five Winterboro students received awards for their entries at the 2012 Central East Regional Technology Fair sponsored by the Alabama Council for Technology in Education on the campus of Jacksonville State University.
Junior Daril Howell won first place for his video game design. Junior Robert Templeton also won a medal for his video game, claiming second place. Senior Hunter White won second place for his digital video production. The Winterboro Robotics team, represented by 7th grader Darby Caldwell and Sophomore Mac Caldwell, won first place medals for their contribution in the robotics category.
