| Students hard at work. |
Winterboro Students, Teachers and Parents: I am very excited to announce that Winterboro High School met 100% of its AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) goals last year; including raising the graduation rate! So many have pondered whether or not our initiative with 21st Century Skills and technology would have a positive or negative impact on academics. I am pleased to report that test scores made great gains, especially in the area of math. It was truly great to share this news with our faculty, and I am looking forward to what will be another great year with great strides in all areas of the school. I want to thank all of the Bulldog athletes, cheerleaders, and band members for their hard work this summer! Not only have they worked very hard to prepare for the upcoming football season, they have endured extremely harsh conditions related to the extreme heat. Again, let me say how proud I am of the Winterboro students and the entire community for supporting our school and working diligently to make it the best it can be! I look forward to seeing all of you at our first home football game. And do not forget ... we may not be the biggest school or the newest school, but we are the BEST school in Talladega County! Sincerely, Craig Bates, Principal
